Unrequited

It starts out slowly...that feeling of butterflies in your stomach,
when you realize there's been something all along between you.
You begin to wonder, about the life that was and the life that can be,
you think to yourself that "I'd be happier if he was with me."
The feelings start to gradually intensify. You no longer see him as just some guy.
He is the one, the only, and he doesn't know you exist....

Today's Latest Hiccup

Let me say this....I was quite disappointed today to see that many of our elected officials had very little familiarity with the facts when questioning the current AIG CEO Liddy. It was clear that their only interest was in bashing a man with a solid reputation as a means of punishing wrong-doers who are no longer in the picture. Excuse me if I feel that our entire capitalist society stands for the ideal that if you work in the private sector (the increasingly shrinking private sector) you are paid well for your hard work and dedication. If you want to earn pennies, you become a "public servant." That's the way it works in America. End of Story.

A day in the life

A day in the life of a law student is never short, never exactly over either. Our day is not over after the last class or even after completing all the reading and assignments for the entire week. No, the day is over when we realize that we will not get anything else done that day because we need at least 4 hours of sleep to function in a reasonable manner. No no, our work is never done. Secretly we may all be masochists. Who else would actually enjoy it?
